0Volkswagen Bulli Concept To Go Into Production
Volkswagen (VW) is seriously considering putting the Bulli into production as an electric powered vehicle. It was at the Geneva auto show last March that the Bulli was first presented. The Bulli, which is inspired by the 1960s Microbus styling, received very good reviews from the press and also the visiting public. The Bulli, which seats five people, is just slightly larger than the new Polo. It is expected to be slated for production at VW’s plant in Puebla, Mexico, where the third-generation Beetle is built using VW’s latest modular platform. Chief designer Walter De’Silva looks at the Bulli having a high appeal with urban lifestyle car buyers.
The Bulli will seat five passengers and will come with a length of 3.99 m, width 1.70 m and a wheelbase of 2.62 m. The Bulli will probably be powered by electric motors producing 114horsepower and 270Nm of torque. Power source will be supplied from a lithium-ion battery and charging time will be less than an hour. Acceleration from 0-100 km per hour will be 11.5 seconds and a top speed of 140 km per hour will be possible.
