0Renault Clio RS To Get Turbo Engine With The New Mk4 Model In 2013
Sources from Renault Sport in France have confirmed that the next generation Clio RS will be powered by a new turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine with an almost similar power of the current Clio RS which is 197bhp from the normally aspirated 2.0-litre. The Nissan Juke is powered by a 187bhp version of the same engine. Insiders said that the Renault Clio RS will be available with the option of a new dual-clutch gearbox with paddle shifters as standard equipment. The new Mk4 Clio will use a new platform that is wider and longer but will be available in just a five-door format. It will however get a coupé-like appearance due to its unique styling with bold ‘tucked-in’ side sections, big shoulders over the rear wheels and rear door handles concealed in the C-pillar. The new version will be very different from the current RS since it is based on the same bodyshell as the basic Clio. Renault considers the Mk4 Clio a crucial product. It will be introduced in production form late this year.
