Rhys Millen To Race His Hyundai Genesis Coupe in 2013 Pikes Peak

A factory-supported, purpose-built unlimited class entry will be the vehicle driven by Rhys Millen, the defending champion of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Last year, Millen won the “race to the clouds” while driving a modified production 2012 Hyundai Genesis coupe. Hyundai unveiled the plan last Monday to support Millen’s effort in a lightweight, 900-horsepower racing vehicle, which is fitted with a body that has a loose resemblance to the production Genesis coupe. This vehicle will use powertrain components from Hyundai’s Lambda engine lineup together with production components like block, cylinder heads and other parts. For this upcoming race, the modified production car that Millen drove in the Attack division last year will participate as part of a two-car team.
