0Toyota Crown MK14 In Japan Now
This is the 14th generation of the Toyota Crown. It is on sale in Japan now and is offered in Royal and Athlete versions, in Japan. The Royal is powered by a V6 2.5-liter, while the Athlete is available with a V6 3.5-liter. These are available in both RWD and AWD versions, and could be mated to either a 6 or 8-speed automatic gearboxes.
The new model Toyota offers a hybrid version for the RWD models that feature a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine with a high-torque motor that allows the sedan to achieve a fuel economy rating of 23.2 km/L (4.3 l/100km; 55 mpg-US) under the JC08 test cycle. The petrol engine delivers 178bhp at 6,000 rpm and has a peak torque of 221Nm between 4,200 rpm and 4,800 rpm. The electric motor offers an additional 143bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The combined output has a rating of 220bhp.
The following features will be offered as options: leather seat package, rear comfort package (rear accessory socket, rear center armrest, rear power seats and rear side airbags), driver support package (automatic anti-glare rearview mirror, automatic windshield wipers, etc.) and the advanced package (pre-collision system, intelligent sonar and back sonar, etc.)
