3 HONDA BIKE WINNERS IN SHELL ADVANCE GLOBAL CONTEST
Three lucky motorcyclists each took home a Honda CBR250R sport bike finished in exclusive and eye-catching Shell Advance livery when they were selected as Grand Prize winners in this year’s Shell Advance ‘Win the Ride of Your Choice’ contest. As Grand Prize winners, Penangnite Abdul Rohim Salleh, 26; Shahbudin Saad, 51, from Sungai Petani; and Phan Chin Siong, 26, from Johor had the privilege of choosing either a Honda CBR250R sport bike, the dual-purpose Kawasaki KLX250 or a retro-chic Vespa GTS250 scooter as their dream rides. All three decided to go with the Honda.
The Shell Advance ‘Win the Ride of Your Choice’ contest was held from June 1 till August 15, 2013. Participants had to purchase one 1-litre pack of Shell Advance 4T motorcycle engine oil and SMS the correct answer to a simple question along with the unique code found on the pack label to stand a chance to win. The contest, which received more than 12,000 entries from around the country, was part of this year’s Shell Advance global brand campaign that promised to help bikers enjoy every ride.
Ex-soldier Shahbudin said,”I am thankful to Shell Advance for giving me the opportunity to win a dream bike like this. Otherwise, it would have been difficult for a small-time trader like me to afford one.”
“The exclusive Shell Advance design is really special and the bike looks even better in real life than in the pictures!” said mechanic Abdul Rohim, who could not keep his eyes off his brand new bike.
Merchant seaman Phan was thankful that his sister decided to submit the contest entry on his behalf. “This gorgeous bike is certainly an incentive for me to take up riding again,” said Phan, who used to own a Yamaha moped before trading it for a car.
