MERCEDES-BENZ S400L Hybrid Price Set At RM587,888.00
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd made the announcement that the price tag for the locally assembled S400L HYBRID will be just RM587,888. This price sends the S-Class competitors running back to their individual factories looking for a quick solution to keep their super luxury models still in the sales running for this segment. In support of Malaysia’s aspiration of making the nation an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) hub, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has invested a total of RM15 million in readying its assembly plant for the S400L HYBRID. “We have worked hard to bring the S-Class as a hybrid vehicle to the Malaysian market. Having invested a considerable amount in preparing our assembly line and manpower at our Pekan Plant. This marks another great achievement and certainly a milestone for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.” said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia President and CEO, Roland Folger. 
Kai Schlickum, Vice President, Sales and Marketing added, “With the S400L HYBRID qualifying and receiving full duty exemptions, we are proud to be able to contribute in helping Malaysia fulfil its ambition of becoming a regional EEV hub.” 
The S400L HYBRID is a one-of-a-kind vehicle that boasts the latest technological innovations from Mercedes-Benz. As with every generation before it, the new S-Class sets standards across the board to retain its accolade as the best automobile in the world. With the three engineering priorities “Intelligent Drive”, “Efficient Technology” and “Essence of Luxury”, the new S-Class extends the boundaries of technology on many levels. Perfection down to the last detail results in “The Essence of Luxury” as pursuit is particularly noticeable in the interior: whether it is the seats or the air conditioning, the controls or the design, the infotainment or the comfort and safety in the rear – new ideas, their painstaking realisation, and highest perceived quality underpin the high standards that the engineers have set for the Mercedes-Benz flagship model – and for themselves. 
The same applies to safety. What started with PRE-SAFE® ten years ago and continued with DISTRONIC PLUS has now resulted in a new dimension of motoring: comfort and safety are merged into one. Mercedes-Benz refers to this as “Intelligent Drive”. A whole host of new systems makes the new S-Class even more comfortable and even safer. 
The S-Class is so efficient that it almost sounds utopian: within ten years Mercedes-Benz, by realising “Efficient Technology”, has almost halved fuel consumption in the 150 kW output category to 4.4 litres per 100 kilometres, for example, while the drag coefficient of the new S-Class (cd=0.24) clearly undercuts the previous model’s figure and sets a new benchmark in this segment. The new model is the world’s first car to dispense entirely with light bulbs in favour of LEDs, pointing the way ahead once again. As a vehicle that is an ‘intelligent drive’, with ‘efficient technology’ and all ‘the essence of luxury’, the S400 HYBRID remains a dominant force in the automotive world. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia initiated the assembly project in Pekan towards the end of 2011, with the first car assembled approximately 27 months after.
