Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Series
Ulysse Nardin unveils an original all-black Marine Chronometer series exclusive to its mono-brand boutiques. This newcomer pays tribute to the Swiss watch manufacturer’s seafaring past and the brand’s pioneering DNA. Original Marine Chronometer Series Boutique Exclusive timepiece follows the major trend in contemporary watch industry – the all-black appearance – from black dial and case to the black strap. The all-black look is complemented with striking red decorative elements from the rubberized crown to the cautionary segment on the power reserve display.
A “Blaktop” coated stainless steel case measures 45mm in diameter and features a layer crafted from amorphous carbon. This high-tech coating material offers additional hardness for long-lasting durability. Besides, the treatment shields wearers from possible allergic reactions to metal whilst creating an intense blackness that is not only beautiful, but it is also scratch-resistant. The sporty case incorporates a screw-down security crown covered with rubber. The case is shielded with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and it is constructed to resist water pressure of up to 300 meters (about 660).
The new Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer is powered with the caliber UN-118 self-winding base movement which is conceived and executed entirely in house. The mechanism is incredibly innovative, from its anchor escapement produced by using DiamonSil (an alliance of the strength of diamond and lubrication-free assets of silicon), to its own oscillator and patented hairspring. The 50 jewels caliber comes with a COSC certification. The impeccable movement is capable to provide approximately 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. Its inner beauty can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
The dial features Roman numerals as hour markers and two sub-dials. A power reserve counter is located at the 12 o’clock position, while a small seconds sub-dial is placed on the opposite side at the 6 o’clock position. There is also a round date window. Superluminova coating on the hands and indices guarantees excellent legibility no matter how poor the visibility is.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Series Boutique Exclusive (ref. 1183-122LE-3C/BLACK-BQ) is attached to a rubber strap with “Blacktop” coated titanium elements and a folding buckle. The watch is issued in only 99 specimens which are created exclusively for Ulysse Nardin Boutiques. This newcomer is ideal for energetic people.
