Quattro Autoparts Meeting The Needs Of Volkswagen & Audi Owners
There is a place where all Volkswagen and Audi (even Skoda) owners can go to get their original parts after their warranty has run out. Let me introduce to you Quattro Autohaus. Located in Bandar Sunway at Lot 9, Jalan PJS 7/17, this unassuming parts dealer has been in the Volkswagen Group parts business since last year and has already built up a strong network with VW mechanics that seemed to have mushroomed around Klang Valley and starting to expand to all other states.
Question: How long have you been in the VAG spare parts business?
ANSWER : since 2011
Question: What prompted you to enter into this business?
ANSWER: because of the positive growth of the VAG group in the local market and my knowledge & experience with the Volkswagen and Audi group cars.
Question: Why VAG and not other brand spare parts?
ANSWER : knowledge & experience of the VAG group brands. which allow me to know what are the common parts to store which will help me to keep a healthy stocl level to accommodate the market needs.
Question: What is your best selling item?
ANSWER: For sure it is servicing items has always been the best selling items, but the movement of overhaul parts for the EA888 engine has also been increasing due to common “issues” of oil loss the engine is currently facing.
Question: Do you have a direct competitor?
ANSWER : Yes, but I’m confident with our current stock availability we will be able to penetrate the market.
Question: Do you work closely with Volkswagen Group Malaysia?
ANSWER: Not directly.
Question: Is the fluctuation in the exchange rate an issue for you in the short term?
ANSWER : Yes. But with the right stock. I should be able to cope with fluctuations of exchange rates.
Question: Do you have more VW and Audi car owners coming to you or more workshops?
ANSWER: More workshops for now.
Question: What are you near term expansion plans?
ANSWER : Looking towards the export market for ASEAN countries.
Question: Which is better brand to maintain in terms of spare parts costs, Audi or VW?
ANSWER: both are about the same since some of the parts shares within various brands.
Question: Or are they the same (refer to above question)
ANSWER : Same.
Question: What makes for success in your industry? Please share some thought and issues you would like to see sorted.
ANSWER: Service to customers and stock availability. Issues in the industry would be other players selling imitation parts claiming to be genuine in the market.
