Naza Premira launched the New Vespa Sprint today, adding a sporty variation of the legendary two-wheeler to their current line up.

As the spiritual successor to the Vespa S, the Sprint preserves many of its vintage aesthetics while providing modern amenities. The black saddle with a white accent and the signature square shaped headlamp carries over are just two examples of how the bike pays homage to its predecessor.

The Sprint comes with a very efficient 150cc single-cylinder engine which run on a 4-stroke cycle, uses a single overhead cam and electronic fuel injection. It’s a thoroughly modern unit, capable of returning 64km/l at average speeds. This efficiency is owed to the new free-wheel electric starter, dry centrifugal clutch as well as the engine’s 2-intake-1-exhaust valve layout, which is uncommon in smaller bikes.

It comes equipped with 12-inch aluminium alloy rims, LED daytime running lights and a multifuntion digital display, combining the best of vintage looks with modern day technology and convenience. Being a Vespa, a lot of focus has been put into making the bike really stand out. To achieve this, it is offered in a variety of eye-catching colours, namely Montebianco (white), Rosso Dragon (red), Grigio Titanio (grey), Blue Midnight (blue), yellow and orange.

The bike’s body also benefits from some clever engineering which not only enhances the bike’s safety without adding to its weight. Headstock rigidity and longitudinal bend have been increased by 36% and 154% respectively, making it a simple but dynamic bike to ride. The improvements also come in terms of usability and ergonomics, with the Vespa Sprint being designed for maximum comfort for both rider and pillion. Thanks to a redesigned frame, the helmet compartment is now 16.6 litres large.

The Vespa Sprint is priced at RM13,888 with the final On-The-Road price being RM15,617.13, GST inclusive. It comes with a 2-year/20,000 kilometre manufacturer’s warranty, but that’s not all.  New Vespa owners who register their newly purchased bikes from the 1st of April 2015 onwards will benefit from a year of Vespa Assist Service. Vespa is the first bike brand to offer such a service, which begins on the 10th of April and covers 24/7 breakdown assistance, towing, and minor on-the-spot repairs to their customers through AAM’s support.
