INFINITI Q70 Sedan Arrives In Malaysia Priced From RM295,000
Infiniti Malaysia today unveiled its flagship performance luxury sedan, the Q70, thus extending its current line-up after the successful launch of its Premium Sports Sedan Q50 last year. The new Q70 embraces the essence of all things Infiniti – style, performance, luxury, craftsmanship and technology. With this introduction, Infiniti is delivering on its strategy to accommodate the sophisticated Malaysia market with three (3) V6 engine variants namely Q70 2.5L, 3.7L & 3.5L Hybrid.
EXPRESSIVE FLAGSHIP DESIGN
The new harmonized details give the premium sedan a muscular, expressive design language which continues to separate itself from more traditional European luxury sedans. The front of the new Q70 adds interestingly sinister LED headlights, Infiniti signature chrome double-arch grille with high-quality waved mesh pattern, sport front bumper and integrated LED fog lights. The rear of new Q70 features LED combination lights, a new trunk lid shape with chrome rear finishers and a rear bumper design with new details around the large dual exhaust with polished tips completes the impression of stability and strength.
The new Q70’s multi-layered exterior combines balanced, rear-wheel drive proportions and stance with a long, low hood and high rear deck; all combining to produce an exceptionally low aerodynamic coefficient of drag of 0.27 while also providing a roomy cabin. The new Q70’s sporty appearance is highlighted by standard 18” wheels (or optional, imposing 20” wheels) and deep body shape of the fenders and doors, which give it a powerful look unlike anything on the road.
The new Q70 exterior features include a power sliding tinted glass moonroof with one-touch open/close, tilt feature and sliding sunshade, power-folding heated outside mirrors with reverse tilted down feature and integrated LED turn signals, rain-sensing variable intermittent front windshield wipers and courtesy lamps built into the outside door handles.
AN INTERIOR TO INDULGE
Inside the stunning exterior, the focus of the interior design is centered on the individual driving the car. The goal is to present an elegant yet functional design that combines artistry with precision, comfort with innovation – all in support of enhancing driving performance and passenger enjoyment.
Quilted leather-appointment, climate controlled, 10-way power driver and front passenger’s seats including 2-way power lumbar support are standard, along with a dual occupant memory system for the driver’s seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors – which can be linked to the individual Intelligent Keys. In addition, each Intelligent Key remembers the last used climate control and audio. The hand crafted white ash silver-powdered wood makes luxury more sensory and alluring.
The Active Noise Control, which generates “cancelling” sound from four door speakers (and subwoofer for models equipped with a Bose® sound system) to reduce unpleasant engine harmonics. The cabin noise levels are monitored by two microphones located in the Q70’s ceiling, with no action needed from the driver and passengers except to enjoy the quiet, comfortable cabin.
In the BOSE® Premium Sound System, 10-speakers featuring the light yet powerful Neodymium speakers envelops you, creating sound staging with a depth for wider, more immersive experience. The Infiniti Hard Disk Navigation system is displayed through a high resolution 8-inch color touch screen display. Streaming audio via Bluetooth and a Music Box® with 9.3GB space provides a library of personalized tunes.
ADVANCED POWERTRAIN, A NATURALLY DYNAMIC DRIVING FEEL
The new Infiniti Q70’s 2.5L V6 218hp & 253Nm high revving engine is equipped with the CVTCS (Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System). CVTCS optimizes opening of intake and exhaust valves to improve response and efficiency.
Q70’s 3.7L V6 is equipped with the VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) system. The VVEL system combines hydraulic-controlled variable valve timing and electronically controlled variable valve lift on the intake side to help improve performance and response. The 24-valve DOHC aluminium-alloy V6 is rated at 320hp@7,000rpm, 360Nm of torque @5,200rpm.
The unrivalled performance of Q70 3.5L Hybrid model featuring a 1-motor, 2-clutch parallel hybrid powertrain, generating a combined system output of 360hp and 350Nm. It is able to go from 0-100 km/h in less than six seconds. Masterfully engineered, the high-speed motor control technology enables a seamless transition between the gasoline engine and electric motor, providing a smooth and responsive ride with thrilling acceleration that goes beyond what was thought possible from a hybrid.
All Q70 comes standard with Infiniti’s refined 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and manual shift mode. One of its greatest strengths is its very aggressive Downshift Rev Matching, which rapidly brings the engine up to the correct rpm for a fast and smooth downshift.
Its unique feature such as Drive Mode Selector is an integrated control system that allows drivers to select from four driving modes, depending on mood or driving conditions, with a dial switch located on the center console. Each mode; Standard, Eco, Sport or Snow, adjusts throttle sensitivity and transmission mapping to help optimize performance.
The Sport driving mode is programmed with higher transmission shift points and stronger acceleration for a thrilling drive.
Estimated fuel economy (combined) is rated at 12.1km/L for the Q70 2.5L, 11.8km/L for Q70 3.7L and 14.5km/L for Q70 3.5L Hybrid.
The new Q70’s front-mid-engine layout, with the engine behind the front axle but in front of the driver, results in good front-to-rear weight distribution (53:47). Slightly more weight on the front axle than the rear, results in excellent turn-in response and directional positivity. It’s a thoroughbred sports sedan.
Every Q70 includes Infiniti’s advanced Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS). VDC automatically adjusts brake pressure and engine torque during certain situations where the vehicle is near its handling limit, helping the driver to maintain control of the vehicle.
SAFETY FEATURES
The new Q70 is equipped with 6-airbags; front air bags, front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags, and standard roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection.
Also included are Pre-Crash front seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiters which tighten the seatbelts in certain braking situations while the Active Front Head Restraints help to cushion the head in reducing whiplash-type injuries. Total occupant protection through Zone Body construction with laser welding at critical locations, front and rear crumple zones and Child safety ISOFIX System.
The new Infiniti Q70 is available in five colours: Hermosa Blue, Malbec Black, Liquid Platinum, Graphite Shadow, and Moonlight White with premium pearl finish.
Q70 is available for viewing and test drives at Infiniti Center Kuala Lumpur from 10th June.
