Nurburgring Management Bans Lap Records Just As Koenigsegg Prepare One:1 for Track

Managers of the Nurburgring race track have seen fit to ban lap records altogether, following the fatal accident during last month’s VLN Endurance championship involving Jann Mardenborough’s Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.

The all-out ban on lap records will undoubtedly upset many, not least of all Koenigsegg, who were just about to attempt to break the record on the track with their One:1. It may not be a permanent ban, as the management will review the decision by the end of the year, when all safety concerns have been addressed.
