Barely half a year from launching the all-new third-generation Audi TT, Audi Malaysia once again ups the ante with the official introduction of the first ever official Audi S model in Malaysia, the fearless new Audi TTS coupé.

At the heart of the new TTS is Audi’s award-winning 2.0 litre TFSI engine that incorporates a 4-cylinder in-line petrol engine with direct fuel injection, exhaust gas turbocharging and Audi valvelift system as well as a 6-speed S tronic transmission that allow the new Audi TTS to develop a maximum output of 286 hp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm between a range of 1,800 and 5,200 rpm.

With this top-of-the-line powertrain, the engineers at Audi AG also recalibrated numerous components of the TTS to ensure that this car delivers on its promise of a pure performance sports car, including the installation of reinforced aluminium pistons, connecting rods, bearings and crankcases, the addition of a large turbocharger with a maximum charge pressure of up to 1.2 bar and a capacity of up to 1,000 kilogrammes (2,204.6 lbs) of air per hour, as well as a high-performance air-to-air intercooler to reduce the engine temperature at a rapid rate.

When combined with Audi’s proprietary quattro® system and TTS-exclusive 19” forged aluminium wheels, this fearless sports coupé is able to make the century sprint in an exhilarating 4.7 seconds, a full 1.2 seconds faster than the standard TT coupé, with an electronically-governed top speed of 250 km/h. Despite its staggering performance, the TTS is still highly fuel-efficient, with a combined fuel consumption rating of 6.9 litres/100km and a CO₂ emission of just 159 g/km.
