The future of rear view cameras? Gentex and NISMO at SEMA

How do you look out the back of a Le Mans prototype when you have no rear window? At this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, Gentex Corporation is showcasing the solution it provided for Nissan: the Full Display Mirror on the GT-R LM NISMO race car.

Gentex’s booth at SEMA features one of the GT-R LM NISMO race cars equipped with the complete rear vision package comprised of glare-eliminating exterior mirrors and a Full Display Mirror system.

Full Display Mirror (FDMTM) on the GT-R LM NISMO consists of a custom, high-dynamic-range imager that captures video of the vehicleÕs rearward view and streams it to a unique mirror-integrated display. These same technologies were used on the GT-R LM NISMO during the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.
