RSC “P-51 Mustang” SCAT VII Swiss Made Automatic Pilot Watch
Based in Antwerp, Belgium, RSC (Ronald Steffen Creations) produces meticulously designed pilot watches. This new watch brand was founded by Belgian watch designer Ronald Steffen, who also owns the exclusive Swiss made brand STEFFEN. The brand has recently launched a Kickstarter Campaign to fund the mass production of its “P-51 Mustang” Swiss Made automatic pilot watch.
Passionate about aviation and specifically military aircraft, Ronald Steffen has created the “P-51 Mustang” watch collection, designed with an eye for detail. As the name suggests, this timepiece pays tribute to the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang aircraft, an American long-range, seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II, the Korean War and other conflicts.
Dressed in a solid stainless steel case, the “P-51 Mustang” timepiece boasts a beautifully finished exterior. Top and bottom parts of the case are polished and the middle part is horizontally brushed. Its case measures 44mm diameter and thickness is 14mm. Top and bottom of the watch case is secured with scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass. Positioned at 2’o clock, the screw down crown ensures water resistance of 10 ATM.
Inside each timepiece beats a Swiss made ETA 2824-2 self winding movement, which is renowned for its reliability and accuracy. The movement can be viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback.
The dual layered, cut out dial has an outer ring featuring 24h scale and inner dial has 12 hour scale with large Arabic numerals for 3 & 9 hour markers. Just below 12’o clock, has the Air Force insignia, brand and model names. The date window is positioned at 6’o clock just below the logo of P-51 Mustang aircraft with model number ‘SCAT VII’. The 03, 09 Arabic numerals, the big hour stripes, part of the logo at 12 o’clock and the date border at 6 ‘o clock are treated with luminous material to increase the legibility.
RSC “P-51 Mustang” is available in several dial+ straps options such as matte black & military green dial versions with vintage straps or sleek leather straps and sandblasted black & matte black dial versions with vintage leather straps or sleek leather straps. Each version will be limited to 1000 pieces and carry unique limited edition number on the caseback.
Kickstarter price range of RSC “P-51 Mustang” timepiece starts from €495. By backing the RSC “P-51 Mustang” Kickstarter campaign, customers can pre-order the timepiece. The P-51 Mustang watch will be delivered with a beautiful black ‘leather’ box and 2 years international warranty.
