Kawasaki Launches Road Safety Campaign for Chinese New Year

Kawasaki Motors Malaysia has officially launched a road safety campaign, in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. The campaign was officiated by the Minister of Transport, Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai, with the presence of Dato’ Jeffrey Lim, Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Malaysia.

The campaign is designed to raise awareness among the motorcyclists of the safety aspects of riding including the importance of wearing high-visibility clothing. According to MIROS, 60 percent of accidents were found to involve motorcycles.

Held at the Sungai Besi toll plaza, the campaign also provides a 16-point safety check for motorcycles of all makes. The inspection is done by trained Kawasaki technicians. Additionally, new helmets and fluorescent jackets were also given out to those who show up.

The company hopes that its second road safety campaign will contribute to reduce road accidents this festive season, especially among motorcyclists.
