Tesla Motors Now Known as ‘Tesla’
In a move that has shocked no one, Elon Musk has announced that Tesla Motors is now known as Tesla, pending some official documentation. The move mirror’s Apple’s 2007 move when they dropped the word ‘Computer’ from their official name and introduced a slew of lifestyle-related consumer electronics like the first iPhone.
Tesla’s ever expanding product portfolio now covers greater aspects of smart and environmentally-friendly technology. Musk has indicated that he wants his cars to serve owners by operating as self-driving taxis while not in use. Plus, their recent merger with Musk’s other company, Solar City, will mean that Tesla vehicle owners will be able to further reduce their carbon footprint by using technologies such as the PowerWall and Solar Roof to cut out fossil fuels completely.
Current Tesla vehicles are still linked to the electricity grid which still requires fossil fuel burning as a form of electric generation.
