Mitsubishi Outlander Gets a Host of New Features in Malaysia

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, officially introduced the enhanced Mitsubishi Outlander SUV today.

New features have been added to the Outlander SUV for a more luxurious touch. The main highlights are, Electronic Parking Brake- a modern feature that adds convenience to the driving experience, Interior Floor Illumination Lamps which welcomes the driver and passengers as they open the doors, and Shark Fin Antenna- a small touch to enhance the overall sleek exterior design.

The Outlander SUV comes standard with premium features such as Sunroof, Electric Tailgate with anti-pinch feature, LED Headlamps with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and is further accentuated with 18” Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels to complete the stylish stance.

Moving into the cabin, the Outlander SUV comes with a versatile 7-seater Leather Seats and Auto Light and Rain Sensor.

Competitively priced with stylish outlook, generous 7-seater space, best premium and safety features, the Outlander SUV is priced at RM171,000.00 The Outlander SUV also comes with a warranty package of five years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.

Available only in 4WD, the Complete Built-Up (CBU) vehicle from Japan is powered by a 2.4-litre Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) engine boasting a maximum output of 167 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 222Nm at 4,100 rpm.

The Outlander SUV is offered in three colours- Red Metallic, White Pearl and Grey Metallic.

Safety Features

Like other Mitsubishi models, high safety performance is a top priority. Standard safety features offered in the Outlander SUV include 7-Airbags, Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), Anti-lock braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and ISOFIX to ensure maximum safety for infants.

Performance and 4WD System

For performance, the Outlander comes with Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6-Step Manual Mode. This allows smoother shifts and quick responses are certain with reduced friction and torque loss.

The Outlander SUV comes with a multi-select 4WD system offering three different modes – 4WD

ECO, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock.

The 4WD ECO emphasises on fuel economy where torque is distributed to the front wheels during normal driving conditions and automatically splits to all wheels for better traction and stability during slippery road conditions. This enables the Outlander SUV to deliver one of the best-in- class fuel efficiency of 12.8km/l.

4WD Auto automatically distributes the right amount of torque to all wheels to provide smoother cornering performance and maintains high-speed stability while 4WD Lock permanently feeds torque to all wheels during a hill climb, muddy trails or rough roads.

Best-in- class features of the Outlander SUV include a spacious cargo which can fit up to 4 golf bags or a single-bed mattress (1,608-litre) and a turning radius of 5.3 metres.
