Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI Bluemotion re-engineered in Germany
This is still an attractive 5-seater family vehicle that looks sporty with a hint of class and some practical motoring sprinkled on top. The Volkswagen Golf and its siblings are still a hot topic of discussion at teh tarik stalls, lunch breaks and even with the online community. The ‘pull’ factor of the VW Golf has continued with this 7th generation version and even more with the hot GTi version.
However, this is still a big ‘BUT’ hanging over every conversation like mistletoe during Christmas season. This is the infamous twin charge engine issues and 7-speed gearbox. Volkswagen in Germany has heard all the ‘noise’ made by owners in Malaysia and some neighboring countries and they have not ignored the ‘anger’ that comes with it. They have taken all customer feedback and aftersales reports and rectified all issues with the gearbox and introduced a NEW 1.4L turbocharged engine (previous engine had a turbocharger and a supercharger working together).
Why has Volkswagen engineers gone back to the drawing board and done all this? Simple, they have to continue doing business in the fastest growing region in the world and they need ASEAN car buyers to have confidence in their vehicles once again.
This is why the VW Golf TSI Bluemotion is in showrooms with a redeveloped and reengineered engine and gearbox.
At a selling price of RM159,888 you get self-parking, great looking 17” Madrid alloy wheels, ‘KESSY’ keyless entry & start, a drowsiness detection system, and sport seats with ‘Mel Stripe’ seat covers. It also feels faster than its 150bhp informs you and more communicative around corners than any other vehicle in its price range. Test drive it for yourself and you be the judge.
