Here is why we added a strut bar to our 1991 Mazda MX5

A strut tower bar, also known as a strut tower brace, is a pretty common upgrade on many cars for the past many years. Some cars come with one from the factory. For a convertible/droptop/soft-top car, the rear strut bar installation can add much needed chassis stiffness that drivers are looking for especially when you have a rear wheel drive car like our Mazda MX5 pictured here.

The use of a quality bar will also provide better ride comfort over badly maintained roads and when taking on the many speed bumps in the city. We felt the difference after just driving for 5 minutes along the back roads of Cheras.
