Kawasaki Motors Malaysia Launches Safety and Responsible Riding Course

Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMM) has launched the Kawasaki Safety & Responsible Riding course. It is the first ever programme to be organized by KMM in collaboration with Kawasaki Heavy Industries and K-TEC Corporation from Japan.

This program is aimed to bring awareness on the importance of safety and responsible riding, in-line with the government’s and related agencies such as JPJ, JKJR, PDRM and others in their effort to reduce road accident in which the majority are involving motorcyclists.

Based on statistics, over the period of 10 years, from 2007 to 2016, the total road accidents fatality in Malaysia is 73,954 which about 63% (40,609) are motorcycle users. In Indonesia, there were 184,022 vehicle accidents in 2016, in which 74% were motorcycles. In Thailand, the number of motorcycle accident was 32,057 in 2016. For Philippines, there were 210,540 vehicle accidents in Metro Manila itself in 2016. Over in Vietnam, motorcycles accidents have increased from 39% in 2007 to 51% in 2016.

For this program, the instructors are trained and certified by K-TEC and Kawasaki, Japan. Participants will be required to use their own motorcycles that are licensed and insured as well as proper safety gears.
