0Mercedes provides the easiest plugin hybrid to live with
Why we say the easiest? Well let’s start with its function. You can drive under battery/electrical power alone for a distance of up to 33-kilometres at speeds of up to 130km/h.
This means, if you live close to work (house in PJ section 17 and work in Damansara Heights) and travel at peak hours you will hardly ever use your 2.0L petrol engine under the front hood.
The Mercedes E-Class plugin hybrid has both its electric/battery motor and the its petrol engine are connected to the drive train. This arrangement allows the vehicle’s High Voltage (HV) battery to be recharged not only regenerative, but also via a power socket or a charging station.
Charging will take a little under three hours from a three-pin plug, or as little as one and a half hours from a 3.6 kW charger. Brake energy regeneration will top up the battery as you slow down or go downhill, while there are 4 different powertrain modes to help out too.
The driver is in control of the system by way of four hybrid-related operating modes:
- E-mode. All-electric driving while the battery holds sufficient charge.
- All-electric, gas-alone, gas with boosts of electric power, or whatever combination yields the greatest efficiency.
- E-save. Rely on the gas engine with little or no help from the electric motor, in order to reserve energy in the battery for later use.
- The combustion engine is not only on, but some of the fuel is consumed to pump energy in the battery pack.
The E 350e brings exceptional driving performance with its powerful Plug-in Hybrid module that delivers total system output of 286hp and a torque of 550Nm, yet allowing a generous 33-kilometres in all- electric mode and a fuel consumption as low as 2.1l/100 km. This technology and luxury filled Mercedes-Benz E 350e can be yours for just RM392,888.00.
