Podium for Tianshi Racing Team at Asian Le Mans Series
Chinese Audi customer squad Tianshi Racing Team (TSRT) has taken a hard-fought GT class podium in round three of the 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series. Championship debutant Jean-Karl Vernay had to settle for second alongside teammates David Chen and Alex Au in the 4 Hours of Buriram after closing the gap on the race leader in the final hour of the race.
TSRT’s second Audi R8 LMS GT3 team of Max Wiser, Billy Lo and Dennis Zhang took the GT Am class win, crossing the line fourth in the GT class after leading the race for the first hour.
“TSRT did a great job today in tough conditions and was unlucky to miss out on the GT class win after gaining so much ground in the final part of the race. They will be looking to end the Asian Le Mans Series on a high at next month’s finale,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia.
The four-race 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series season closes out at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on February 22-24.
