Mazda CX-8 In Malaysia, interior video shared

Bermaz Motor, the guardian of the Mazda brand recently had a special preview of their latest offering, the all new CX-8. This is Mazda’s first ever use of the CX-8 badge and it is a spacious 7-seat SUV and is a smaller sibling to the luxurious Mazda CX-9.

The Mazda CX-8 also is Mazda’s first entry into the diesel powered segment of the mid-large SUV-segment, with their all new upgraded SKYACTIV-D 2.2L engine providing a decent power 140 kW and an impressive 450Nm of torque. This new engine has improved peak torque by +30Nm and peak power by +11kW, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The result is quieter and more economical performance in low-speed / low-load situations, while also delivering a linear engine sound that matches the degree of acceleration under powerful engine conditions.

The Mazda CX-8 has a fuel tank capacity of 74 litres and combined fuel consumption figure of 6.0L for AWD variants; meaning the CX-8’s cruising range is well over 1,200km. The Mazda CX-8 will be sold in Malaysia at a price that will be between RM180,000 to RM195,000. It will be well-appointed, with leather trim and real wood featuring on the Limited-grade; culminating in a luxury package that indulges its occupants. The CX-8 wheelbase is 2930mm with a width of 1840mm, making it larger than the very popular CX-5 to allow for the 3rd row of seats.

Mazda will also offer a petrol driven version in an 8–seat configuration and with all the necessary luxury trimmings to take it head on with its European rivals.
