Fifth Audi R8 LMS GT3 Entry for Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia

A fifth 2019 evolution model Audi R8 LMS GT3 has been confirmed for the opening rounds of Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia. The Thai duo of Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup star Bhurit Bhirombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri are entered with Singha-Plan B by Absolute and will compete for Pro/Am honours at the Sepang International Circuit double-header.

“We are pleased to work again with Singha Plan-B Motorsport for the opening rounds of Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia. Bhurit and Kantasak are proven race winners with the consistency and ability to challenge at the front of the field in the Pro/Am class,” said Ingo Matter, Director of Absolute Racing.

Bhurit Bhirombhakdi

Bhirombhakdi put the 2019 Audi R8 LMS GT3 through its paces at the season launch of the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup last month in Adelaide, and led round two for the majority of the race before an unfortunate retirement on the penultimate lap. The Thai privateer won four Cup races on his way to an impressive second place in the GT3 championship last season.

Experienced GT competitor, Kusiri, has shared driving duties with Bhirombhakdi on a number of occasions in an Audi R8 LMS GT3. The Pro/Am pairing won races in GT Asia Series and GT Masters Asia in 2018 as well as taking a podium at the inaugural SIC888 endurance race in Shanghai, China.

The 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia kicks off this weekend at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia.
