4th Gen Hyundai Santa Fe Launched in Malaysia – From RM170k

The all-new Hyundai Santa Fe that was previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2018 has officially gone on sale with four variants to choose from.

The fourth generation model is available with two engine options, both offered in Executive and Premium guises.

The Theta II 2.4 MPI petrol engine makes 172 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 225 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the R 2.2 CRDi turbodiesel unit produces 193 PS at 3,800 rpm and of 440 Nm from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. This variant gets Hyundai’s new eight-speed automatic transmission as well as the HTRAC All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system with Normal, Sport and Smart modes.

As for standard equipment, the range-topping Premium variants for both the petrol and diesel versions come with these following additional features:

The Rear Occupant Alert is a new feature that detects movement in the rear seats using an ultrasonic sensor. This helps to prevent instances of children or pets being left behind and forgotten in the car, as well as for cases of children accidentally locking themselves in.

Standard safety features carried over from the previous generation include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hillstart Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC), Antilock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist System (BAS), Traction Control System (TCS) as well as the Immobiliser.

Other standard convenient features across all variants include a 12-way driver power seat, Smart One Touch Walk-in, floating type 7-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse camera, Parking Distance Warning (front and rear), Auto Light Control, Auto Cruise Control and a roof rack.
