BMW M550i xDrive Sedan is back on sale

The BMW M550i xDrive Sedan returns to the market with the latest eight-cylinder engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. Please note that this super sedan was removed from production for a while after the emission standards exceeded EU rulings.

The new V8 has an optimized crankcase and larger turbo compressors positioned in “V”. It produces 530hp and 750Nm of torque, which is borrowed from the new M850i. The gearbox to which it is coupled is a Steptronic with eight ratios, and with its intelligent all-wheel drive system and a specifically designed chassis ready to generate unrivaled dynamics.

When the M550i xDrive arrived in 2016 it was before the arrival of the new M5, but it offered a very healthy 465bhp and reached 100km/h from rest in just 4.0 seconds. Which was faster than an M5 F10.

But now the M5 is here with over 600bhp in the M5 Competition (and the new 35 Years Edition) so there is a bit of headroom to offer a bit of a boost to the M550i.

Together with the updated model, new BMW Laserlight headlights with BMW Selective Beam technology are introduced in a package of options, being exclusive to the BMW M550i xDrive Sedan and the BMW M550d xDrive Sedan. The BMW Laserlight can illuminate the road up to 650 meters in front of the car and is also available as an individual option for the new BMW M5, as of July 2019.

We remind you that the BMW Laserlight headlights are specially equipped and can now be ordered only on the BMW i8, the new 3 Series , the new 7 Series facelift , the new 8 Series , the new X5 and the new X7 .

Also, as of July 2019, the latest generation of high-voltage brand batteries will be installed on the BMW 530e sedan to provide more power-only autonomy (a figure to be announced).

The hybrid plug-in model will now also be available with an Intelligent 4-wheel system. The four-cylinder petrol engine and an electrified propulsion unit will make the new BMW 530e xDrive Sedan produce 252hp and 420Nm of torque.
