Honda City Special Edition on Sale from RM76K
Honda Malaysia are upping the value proposition of their best selling B-segment sedan, the City. This City Special Edition essentially takes the City E variant and does three things:
- Adds convenience features
- Drops the price
- Limits it to two colour options
Added Convenience Features
- Digital Video Recorder (DVR)
- Door Visors
- Trunk Organiser
- Built-in Toll Reader
Items like the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and Built-in Toll Reader have been offered on the Honda City’s biggest segment rivals. Their introduction here extends the appeal of the car without needing to wait for a substantive model update or model change.
The DVR here records both front and rear footage. The Built-in Toll Reader, on the other hand, is conveniently hidden away in the glove box.
If memory serves correctly, Honda has offered a Trunk Organiser and Door Visors previously, at least on other models or grades.

Drops the Price
The facelifted Honda City E was the mid-spec petrol model of the City priced at RM79,955 (retail price without insurance). This Special Edition (stylised SE on the Honda website) brings the price down by RM4,000 to RM75,955.
The City E was a decently equipped vehicle for its class with 4 airbags, automatic climate control, a 6.8″ touchscreen, keyless entry and start, a reverse camera, cruise control and paddle shifters.
Limits it to two colour options
Honda Malaysia are offering the City Special Edition in two colours – Passion Red Pearl for no additional cost or White Orchid Pearl for an additional RM120.
Commenting on the City Special Edition, Mr. Toichi Ishiyama, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said, “For many years now, the City has been the best-selling B-segment model in Malaysia. As a way to give more value to Malaysians who have been very supportive towards Honda Malaysia, we have decided to introduce a Special Edition to the City with an attractive price of RM75,955 in conjunction with our Road to 900,000th Unit Milestone Campaign.
