Armed with a more luxurious lineup and a more powerful turbocharged engine, the updated Mazda CX-5 promises to check all the boxes for premium SUV buyers at an asking price that will worry the European rivals.
The Mazda CX-5 already punches above its weight class in terms of luxury and with the addition of the Mazda CX-5 Turbo trim level, drivers will enjoy superior craftsmanship and premium luxury with a price tag that is estimated at just RM176,000.
Exterior highlights of the Mazda CX-5 Turbo include an Adaptive Front-Lighting System, LED lighting systems, a power lift-gate, 19-inch alloy wheels and more.
Inside the luxury-infused Mazda CX-5 Turbo, you will find Caturra Brown Nappa leather, real wood trim, satin chrome accents, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, ambient interior LED lighting, a power moonroof, a Bose® 10-speaker sound system, a 360° View Monitor with parking sensors and a 7-inch MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system.
Delivering an estimated 250bhp of power and 420Nm of torque this 2.5L turbocharged Skyactiv engine boasts one of the highest compression ratios of any four-cylinder turbocharged engine, at 10.5:1, achieved through a series of innovative SKYACTIV technologies.
Mazda will be adding improved performance of front and rear dampers and stabilizers, directed at enhancing ease of control during low g-force maneuvers and stability during high g-force maneuvers with this more powerful engine at play.
New across the range is the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard with this Mazda CX-5. By adding Apple® CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ as standard equipment, it allows the driver or passenger to connect their mobile device to the MZD Connect infotainment system. Via integration to steering wheel controls and voice activated commands, the user can send and receive calls and messages, listen to music, follow directions – all without compromising focus on the road ahead.
This new CX-5 2.5L Turbo will accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 7.7 second.
This turbocharged CX-5 will have a lane departure warning with steering assistance, radar cruise control, auto high-beam dipping, driver attention alert and rear cross traffic alert with braking.
