10th Generation Honda Accord Just Arrived in Japan

While the 10th generation Honda Accord has already been available in Thailand since March, the car only just debuted in Japan at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The D-segment sedan is equipped with their new e:HEV system, which is the new marketing name for its dual motor hybrid system.

From the press release:

In the area of automobiles, Honda established e:HEV as a communication name for its 2-motor hybrid system, which is positioned as Honda’s core electrification technology and a hybrid system for this new era, for vehicles driven mostly with an electric motor.  Including the all-new Fit and the all-new Accord, which are scheduled to go on sale in the Japanese market in February of next year, Honda will begin evolving its communications to convey the appeal of its e:HEV models.

The Japanese 10th generation Honda Accord appears to be rather highly specced in this configuration. It was the sole Accord on display at Honda’s TMS 2019 booth and was not mentioned in the opening speech of the company’s CEO, Takahiro Hachigo.

Here we see the Accord has features like a sunroof.

Full leather upholstery in black, along with wood trim pieces, a fully digital dashboard, a rather large infotainment touchscreen.

At the rear, customary air vents are present, along with charging ports and retractable sun visors for the rear doors.

It’s likely the car will come to Malaysia either as a locally-assembled car using CKD packs made in Japan or perhaps Honda Malaysia will introduce a fully-imported model from either Japan or Thailand, as their biggest rival has done.

The all-new Accord has been well received and won a number of awards in various countries and regions since it was first introduced in the North American market, and Honda is now ready to deliver this model to Japanese customers. Featuring a “low & wide” proportion, elegant silhouette and spacious cabin, the all-new Accord is schedules to go on sale in Japan in early 2020, as a high-class hybrid sedan which enables occupants to enjoy not only the beautiful styling and excellent usability but also the linear, exhilarating and high-quality driving experience.
