Honda Malaysia Hands Over 40 Units of the Civic to the Army

Honda Malaysia has delivered 40 units of the new Honda Civic 1.8 S to the Malaysian Army. The cars will be used by the Royal Military Police Corp for law enforcement and policing duties.

Previously, the company handed over 425 units of the C-segment sedan to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

The Civic 1.8 S is powered by a naturally-aspirated iVTEC engine that makes 141 PS and 174 Nm, which is sent to the front wheels via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Awarded with five-star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP, the Civic is equipped with six airbags,Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Agile Handle Assist (AHA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Auto Brake Hold (ABH).

Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today delivered 40 units of the Civic 1.8S to the Malaysian Army for the purpose of law enforcement and policing duties by the Royal Military Police Corps. This 10th Generation Civic delivery marks the inaugural presentation of a Honda model by Honda Malaysia to the Malaysian Army.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, Mr. Toichi Ishiyama commented, “Previously, the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) had also chosen the best-selling C-segment as their new mobile patrol vehicles and we are currently delivering more than 1,000 units of the Civic 1.8S to them to be used for their enforcement duties. The Civic will be used by the Royal Military Police Corps for enforcement duties and it is our hope that the ideal model selected will complement and assist the Royal Military Police Corps in their daily commute for their assigned tasks.”

The Civic that was presented to the Malaysian Army is powered by a 1.8L i-VTEC engine delivering maximum power output of 141PS and maximum torque of 174Nm. Additionally, the Civic is also certified with Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV).

The 10thGeneration facelifted Civic exudes a premium and sporty appearance with its redefined exterior design and enhanced styling.
