BMW M5 CS To Debut This Month

Following the launch of the M3 and M4, BMW is set to roll out the red carpet for the new M5 CS sometime this month. This was announced by BMW M CEO Markus Flasch via a short clip posted on the automaker’s official Facebook page.

Flasch was also gracious enough to offer us a glimpse of the upcoming Competition Sport variant, which will be positioned above the M5 Competition as the most powerful M5 ever made.

As you can see in the clip, the sedan features gold bronze highlights on the kidney grille surround and side strakes. The forged aluminium wheels, which are wrapped in P Zero Corsa tyres measuring 275/35 at the front and 285/35 at the rear, are also finished in the same shade. Hidden behind those wheels are model-exclusive carbon ceramic discs with red calipers.

Also included on the M5 CS are “motorsport-style” yellow headlights and carbon bonnet. While the interior is not shown in the video, Flasch revealed that the car will be equipped with M carbon bucket seats from the M3/M4.

Under the hood, the TwinPower Turbo V8 mill has been tuned to put out 635 PS and 750 Nm. Combined with a weight loss of 70 kg, the M5 CS should be able to improve the 625-PS M5 Competition’s century sprint time of 3.3 seconds.
