Mazda MX-5 RF Updated In Malaysia For 2021 With Apple CarPlay
One of the last roadsters still on sale today, the Mazda MX-5 RF, has been updated with Wireless Apple CarPlay.
When it comes to top-down, two-door fun, few cars come close to the Mazda MX-5. For four generations, the MX-5 has delighted car enthusiasts the world over with its simple, raw driving character. In 2021, they’ve added a pinch of technology in the form of Wireless Apple CarPlay on both manual and auto variants.
The rest of the Mazda MX-5 RF’s specifications will remain unchanged – and it will be available in the following body colours with either transmission option.
Here’s pricing for the 2021 Mazda MX-5 RF in Malaysia for as long as the 50% SST discount on imported cars applies. This vehicle is fully-imported from Japan.
The Mazda MX-5 RF has a retractable hard top, the soft-top variant is no longer offered in Malaysia. The last 2020 update for the MX-5 RF brought the following features:

The world’s most iconic roadster and world car of the year is receiving a minor update for 2021. The Apple CarPlay™ has now been updated to Wireless Apple CarPlay™ for both 2.0L AT and MT variants. All specifications remain unchanged.
The Mazda MX-5 RF is CBU from Japan and comes standard with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine, producing 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission options include a SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The MX-5’s engine paired with its lightweight physique and agile driving dynamics, provides an outstanding power-to-weight ratio that summons pure joy on any road. Mazda maintains its commitment to captivating driving dynamics while providing the next generation of premium amenities with a striking design.
The colour line-up includes Soul Red Crystal, Snowflake White Pearl, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Jet Black and the newly added Deep Crystal Blue; making a total of 6 colours available.
Selling price for the new 2021 Mazda MX-5 RF starts from RM 258,591.00 and is officially available for ordering today.
