BMW 330Li M Sport Previewed In Malaysia For RM301K

The BMW 330Li M Sport will be locally-assembled for the Malaysian market.

Here’s something that may surprise you. BMW Malaysia yesterday previewed the long-wheelbase (LWB) derivative of the 7th generation 3 Series. This “G28” was first introduced in China in April 2019. It then was launched in India in January this year with the ‘Gran Limousine’ moniker. It will be locally-assembled in Malaysia when it is officially available here.

The estimated price is RM300,800 OTR with SST but without insurance. The fact that BMW Malaysia is estimating this price with SST might indicate a 2H 2021 launch date after the SST exemption expires.

Compared to the standard G20 3 Series, the G28 3 Series LWB gains an additional 110mm in overall length, all of it going towards the wheelbase. This gives it a length of 4.819m and a wheelbase length of 2.961m.

There’s also a height increase of 6mm. 4mm additional headroom and 42mm additional legroom has been freed up.

Boot space is measured at 480 litres with an improved storage compartment.

The BMW 330Li M Sport is powered by a 2-litre turbo inline-4 petrol engine that outputs 258hp @ 5000-6500rpm and 400Nm of torque @ 1550-4400 rpm. An 8-speed ZF-sourced automatic sends power to the rear wheels. It’s the same setup as in the regular wheelbase model. However, 0-100km/h takes 6.2 seconds, 0.4 seconds slower than the regular 330i. Fuel consumption is rated at the same level though.
