Casio Edifice’s Scuderia AlphaTauri Second Edition

This is the latest Edifice for the 2021 racing year.

When you think of motorsport inspired watches, the big luxury brands come to mind and their rather high selling prices that cater to a select group of people.

Customers in this time piece market are drawn to the branding collaboration between race teams, race drivers and a limited edition watch collection.

But did you know about Casio’s long standing collaboration with the word of racing? Probably not, as this precision engineered Japanese watch maker does not market its involvement in the world of motorsports in a very big way, in Malaysia at least.

Way back in 2015, Casio released a limited edition Edifice watch to celebrate its partnership with the Infinti Red Bull Racing team. It might as a surprise to you that Casio has been in partnership with the Red Bull Racing team since 2009. That’s a long working relationship.

Casio is not only involved in auto racing but also in motorcycle racing. In March 2021, Casio released an Edifice Honda Racing Limited Edition time piece inspired by the legendary Honda RC162 motorcycle. At the time it was Casio’s fifth collaboration with Honda Racing.

Well, Casio has been working closely with the most watched car racing event in the world F1 for some years now and they have been side by side with Honda’s Scuderia AlphaTauri racing team since 2016. The working relationship between the Scuderia AlphaTauri team and Casio shows how two well know Japanese ‘engineering’ companies can work to bring affordability and functionality to almost all economic levels.

For the 2021 race year, Casio releases a brand new range of F1 inspired time-pieces and they will be worn by the race drivers, the teams and the pit crew.

These watches are priced very competitively and are now available at the G-SHOCK Kiosk, G-Factory, and authorized dealer stores and are retailing as follows, the EQB-1000AT for RM3,299, the ECB-10AT for a very sensible RM1,399 and the EFS-S590AT is just a smidgen more at RM1,999.

PRESS RELEASE: Casio Malaysia has released three new additions to their EDIFICE line of high-performance metal chronographs. The EQB-1000AT, ECB-10AT and EFS-S590AT, made with 6K carbon, were designed with the Formula One team Scuderia AlphaTauri, whose driver Pierre Gasly took the checkered flag in last September’s Italian Grand Prix.

Casio Edifice’s second collaboration models with Scuderia AlphaTauri Racing Team, a Formula 1 Team that competes in the world’s highest class of auto racing, formerly known as Scuderia Toro Rosso! There are three new models: EQB-1000AT, ECB-10AT, and EFS-S590AT, where certain parts of each model are made of 6K carbon, a material also used in racing car wings and floors. The design of the models also features the team’s navy-blue color as the overall tone and their logo is engraved on the dials, case backs, and band loops.

All three models feature robust sapphire crystals, so no worries about breakage. The EQB-1000AT and ECB-10AT automatically calibrate the time when paired with a smartphone using the dedicated app, delivering the precision that busy team members require. The app also allows users to set world time quickly from a preset selection of about 300 cities — ideal for world travelers like the team members.
