2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo Completely Sold Out

It seems the GT-R craze has even affected the new GT-R Nismo model.

As of late, 2-door Nissans have been getting very popular in the used car market. Many are going for ridiculously high prices (sometimes ending in tragedy). Well, it appears the popularity of the one new 2-door Nissan is also at an all-time high – the limited edition 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO.

Back in April 2021, Nissan started accepting orders for the special edition model. Within 3 months, the company filled up its allocation of 300 units and decided to stop taking orders. Apparently, about half of the customers went for the new NISMO Stealth Gray colour option.

It’s kind of a shame if they didn’t get this option, as the GT-R NISMO is one of the main cosmetic upgrades over last year’s model. If anything, it will make it easier to distinguish as a newer model.

Besides the new paint job, the car also gets a clear-coated carbon fibre hood, 20″ RAYS aluminium forged wheels in black with red highlights. These red highlights are also found elsewhere on the car’s body. This 2022 model also debuts the all-new Nissan logo on the trunk and wheelcaps.

What Is So Special About the Nissan GT-R NISMO?

The 2022 Nissan GT-R is an iteration of the 2020 model. The model brought a new “R mode” gear shift setting, new turbochargers from the GT3 race car (bringing the engine’s output to 600PS), GT-3 inspired fender vents, lightweight carbon-ceramic brakes (the largest ever fitted to a Japanese performance car), retuned suspension, as well as carbon fibre hood, roof, and fenders too.

These changes made the car quicker and more dynamic. Weight was down by 20kg and all performance metrics jumped by a noticeable degree. 0-100km/h too just 2.5 seconds, with magazines testing it at 2.48 seconds.

“The GT-R NISMO has always been an ongoing pursuit of ultimate driving pleasure,” said Hiroshi Tamura, chief product specialist of the GT-R. “We take a holistic approach, seeking precision performance through a meticulous balance of engine components and shaving weight, and incrementally evolving the GT-R’s appearance to deliver the ultimate balance of power, performance and excitement to our customers.”
