Mazda3 Named Canadian Car of the Year 2021

The Japanese sedan/hatchback adds another award to its impressive collection

When the fourth-generation Mazda3 made its debut back in 2018, many, including us, were allured by its clean yet aggressive design, which embodies the latest evolution of the automaker’s Kodo design philosophy. In fact, we’ll go ahead and say it’s the most beautiful C-segment car in the market today.

Thankfully, the Mazda3 is not all show and no go. Even without a turbocharged engine, which is something the Honda Civic takes pride in, the car proved it is more than capable of inducing a simile with its sharp handling and well-balanced chassis. Add an upmarket interior to the mix, you’ll have a very exciting driver’s sedan (or hatchback) at your disposal.

It is therefore not surprising that the Mazda3 has been crowned Canadian Car of the Year for the second year running. According to Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), the car excelled in multiple categories including Styling, Quality, Driver Position, Quietness, Performance, Vehicle Dynamics and Safety.
