Should you buy the JDM Toyota AE86 Or The Nissan Skyline R33?

Budget RM170,000 So Which JDM Sports Car To Buy

The rising price of ‘Japanese domestic manufactured’ cars (JDM) in Malaysia might just continue to rise as the war in Europe is pushing delivery of new cars to be longer and reducing the desire to holiday in Europe.

This leaves more money in the hands of some Malaysians who want to spend that money elsewhere and so a JDM ‘sports car’ is the answer.

So, when two rather special JDM cars are on sale online, it is time to make a decision on which makes more sense. Both are priced very closely. The Toyota AE86 is the coupe that has moved up in value unlike any other Japanese car in recent years and with surprising simple power delivery and engineering under its handsome design. Today, its value is almost 5 times more from two decades ago. Very very rare and with plenty of driving fun to be, the Levin should be given a rebirth by Toyota Motor Corp.

Then there is the Nissan Skyline. A true tarmac ripping machine and with lots of technology under its sleek shape. This version of the Skyline has moved up in value over the last decade, but not like the AE86 and this particular version seems to have a reduced appeal when compared to some of its siblings. Still, it a formidable vehicle with plenty of power under the hood and one that should not be ignored.

Both JDM vehicles are on sale right now and priced very close which makes a decision to buy a little tough. For us, we will probably have to meet both cars and look at them closely to make a final decision. Meanwhile, here below are the details in case you have the need to buy one of these cars.
