Honda Malaysia Appoints New MD And CEO, Hironobu Yoshimura

Beginning April 2022, Honda Malaysia has a new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

After serving one year at Honda Malaysia as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Madoka Chujo will be handing over the reigns to Mr Hironobu Yoshimura. During her tenure in Malaysia, Ms Chujo oversaw the launch of the all-new City Hatchback and the new 11th generation Honda Civic. She also managed to retain Honda Malaysia’s position as the no.1 non-national passenger vehicle brand in Malaysia.

While Ms Chujo will be heading to Japan to become a part of Honda Motor Co., Ltd’s Automobile Operations Sales Supervisory Unit, Sales Division, Mr Yoshimura has assumed the roles of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer here starting 1st April 2022.

Mr Yoshimura has been a part of Honda for 34 years, with a career spanning Corporate Planning, Business Planning, Marketing and After-Sales Services. He has worked in Japan and Thailand in the past and now reports in from his last post as CEO of Honda Atlas Cars in Pakistan.

Commenting on his new role at Honda Malaysia, Mr. Yoshimura said, “I am excited to take up this new role at Honda Malaysia. This unique and diverse nation is truly an important market in the Asia and Oceania region for us at Honda. My predecessors have built the Honda brand to become the success that it is now in Malaysia; as the forerunner in introducing Honda’s advance technology in the region, launching exciting new models and leading the Non-National Passenger Vehicle segment for many years. Most importantly, Honda Malaysia has persevered through and overcame many challenges over the years. I look forward to leading the Company in a post-pandemic business environment and to contribute positively towards the growth of the company.”

He also reports that the Civic, City sedan and City Hatchback are all performing at the top of their game.

“I am also pleased to share that based on our internal data, three Honda models have ranked No.1 in their respective segments for Quarter 1 of 2022. The models are City, All-New City Hatchback and All-New Civic,” he added.
