New Audi A3 2.0TFSI S Line Launched In Malaysia For RM332K
The 2nd gen Audi A3 is the first new product launched with PHS Automotive Malaysia at the helm.
Earlier this year, we shared an industry rumour about Audi’s revival in Malaysia. Though the CKD plan hasn’t yet come to fruition, yesterday the brand took a major step, launching their first new product under new brand stewards PHS Automotive Malaysia. The car they launched is the 2nd generation Audi A3 Sedan.
The 2nd generation Audi A3 comes with an all-new design dictated by a large Singleframe honeycomb front grille. There are plenty of curves in the right places to create the look of a muscular sports sedan with the roofline of a coupé.
The streamlined body, panelled underbody and large diffuser help to reduce the car’s overall drag. The A3 also features electrically actuated cooling inlets for the engine bay and brakes.
The new Audi A3 is available in Malaysia with the S-Line exterior and interior and is powered by a 2.0L TFSI 4-cylinder petrol engine with 190PS and 320Nm of torque. The engine sends power to the front wheels via a 7-speed S tronic transmission.
Audi drive select gives some level of customisation to the drive experience. The compact sedan comes with fully independent suspension consisting of MacPherson struts in front and Multilink suspension at the rear with a central dynamic handling system for optimal interaction between all the components.
In terms of equipment, the Audi A3 S-Line is somewhat lacking in the competitive premium sedan market, which also consists of the locally-assembled Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan and BMW 218i Gran Coupé. The Audi entry comes with a 10.1″ MMI navigation plus touch display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Also included are Audi connect plus services and the Audi virtual cockpit.
There’s a leather steering wheel with multi-function plus buttons. The seats are powered in front and come wrapped in Fine Nappa leather. On the outside, you’ll find 17″ 5-parallel spoke style alloy wheels, LED headlamps and a powered, hands-free boot. In terms of advanced driver assist features, the Audi A3 is somewhat lacking with just Lane Departure Warning.
The Audi A3 Sedan is available in eight colours for the Malaysian market. Pricing starts at RM331,990 at all Audi Centres at Setia Alam, Glenmarie and Juru. All Audi models now come with 3 years free maintenance, 5 years roadside assistance and 5 years unlimited mileage warranty.
Audi RS3 Open For Booking
PHS Automotive Malaysia also simultaneously opened the order books for the RS 3 model. This high-performance model comes with a 2.5L inline 5 turbo engine with 400PS and 500Nm of torque enabling a 0-100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds. It also comes with loads of performance parts including an RS wide bodykit, an RS sports exhaust and more. These will be priced between RM650,000 and RM750,000 when they debut.
