Modenas Convoy Adds Another 1,600KM Under Their Belt

This is the longest distance Modenas covered in 24 hours

Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd, better known as Modenas, has achieved another milestone record this month. The brand, in collaboration with its Dominar D400 owners club, DC project successfully completed the “Longest Distance Covered by A Motorcycle Convoy In 24 Hours” in the Malaysia Book of Records.

This amazing achievement was flagged off by Modenas CEO, Roslan Roskan on 1 October 2022 where the convoy, led by DC Project president, Muhammad Adib Bin Rapia’e, left Glenmarie, Shah Alam at 9.40 a.m. with a total of 25 Dominar D400 owners and 7 Pulsar NS200 owners.

The convoy completed their 1,642km journey in 23 hours and 25 minutes, returning on 2 October 2022 at 9.15 a.m. The convoy left Glenmarie heading towards the Modenas factory in Gurun, Kedah, 399km away for a group photo. They then continued to Bukit Kayu Hitam on the Malaysia-Thailand Border for another 87km.

It was there that the Modenas convoy experienced some unfavourable weather, recounting that it had rained for more than one third of the trip. They also mentioned that temperatures had dropped as low as 28 degrees celsius. The convoy then continued a 491km trip to Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur before heading to Johor Bahru.

From Johor, the Modenas convoy headed straight back to Glenmarie for a total of 659km and the rest is in the history books. Knowing full well that the day would pass them by quickly and there would be very little time to stop and eat, the riders of the convoy all brought their own protein bars and meal replacement drinks with them.

On top of that, pit stops were fleeting as they consisted only of refueling and taking pictures of receipts, which was a prerequisite by the Malaysia Book of Records. Aside from that the only other breaks or pit stops the Modenas convoy took were washroom breaks.

Modenas CEO, Roslan Roskan, said, “This is the second time for Modenas to organise a 24-hour, 1600km endurance ride and through this successful collaboration, the event managed to set a new Malaysia Book of Records attempt for the “Longest Distance Covered by A Motorcycle Convoy In 24 Hours.”

“Congratulations to all 32 riders on completing the challenge. Even though I know for a fact that the group did not have much time to appreciate each state, nevertheless I truly hope that they have had an amazing sense of achievement and the joy in completing the ride.” He added.

So what do you guys think about this? Would any of you have been able to complete such a taxing challenge? I certainly don’t think I would be able to, so kudos to the Modenas convoy for this astounding achievement.
