The all-new BMW X1 and the electric iX1 are now available in left-hand drive form.
The new BMW X1 and iX1 are making their way into the UK market as a left-hand drive vehicle, with expectations that it may soon be launched in Malaysia. The BMW X1 has undergone a design change and has a higher level of electrification across the range, making it a significant competitor in the premium compact segment. The interior of the car has also been expanded and has a premium ambiance with the latest technology and equipment.
The new BMW X1 is available with petrol engine options, diesel engines, and plug-in hybrid options, with three models to choose from: Sport, xLine, and M Sport. The BMW iX1 xDrive30, the first premium compact model from BMW Group based on a flexible vehicle architecture with an all-electric drive system, is available exclusively in xLine or M Sport.
This expansion to the vehicle segment will complement the brand’s existing battery-electric models and make driving an all-electric BMW accessible to a broader audience.
The BMW X1 and iX1 are built at BMW Group Plant Regensburg, and the new BMW X1 is priced from £33,775 or RM180,522.84 in our money before taxes.
The new BMW X1 is larger than its predecessor and has a striking new front end design with a large, almost square BMW kidney grille highlighted by the three-dimensional chrome surround. The new BMW X1 comes as standard with slim LED headlights for low and high beam that extend into the sides of the car, with a distinctive graphic that splits the headlights into three units. The rear lights of the new BMW X1 work using LED technology as standard, with optional rear lights that illuminate in a striking “L” shape.
The Sport model includes 17-inch alloy wheels with a lightning grey finish, Quartz Silver matt interior elements, High-gloss Shadowline exterior detailing, High-gloss Shadowline M Roof Rails, Front Sport seats, and Cloth Anthracite seat upholstery throughout the vehicle. The xLine model includes exclusive 18-inch light-alloy wheels, dark grey body edging, BMW Individual Exterior Line Satin Aluminium, and exterior mirror caps in dark grey. The M Sport model has large cooling air inlets in the sides of the front bumper, a striking rear apron with a diffuser, and exclusive 19-inch M light-alloy wheels.
The interior of the new BMW X1 has been expanded, with a premium ambiance and the latest technology and equipment. The new BMW X1 has the latest BMW Operating System 8 and BMW Curved Display, with a large selection of automated driving and parking systems.
The Sport, xLine, and M Sport models all have generous levels of technology and equipment across the board, with Sensatec perforated seat surfaces, illuminated interior trim strips in Black high-gloss, and Sensatec surfaces for the door shoulders and upper instrument panel.
The BMW X1 now offers fully electric driving for the first time, with the new BMW iX1 xDrive30, making it more accessible to an even wider audience. The BMW iX1 xDrive30 is the first premium compact model based on a flexible vehicle architecture to feature an all-electric drive system, with an electric motor that delivers 286hp and has a range of up to 458 km on a single charge.
