Mini Cooper S Clubman Final Edition Arrives As Brand Enters Electric Age

BMW Group is sending off the Mini Clubman with a special Final Edition model.

The Clubman first appeared in 1969 and brought additional functionality to the Mini chassis with its station wagon proportions, long wheelbase, extended body and split rear doors. After a long hiatus, BMW Group brought the nameplate back to life in 2007 with their own interpretation of the Clubman using the modernised BMW MINI platform.

To make access to the rear seats easier, there was an additional ‘suicide’ door on the right side of the vehicle regardless of which market you were in. The Clubman was renewed once again in 2015 using the latest MINI chassis and hardware and this version is what we find today with 4 full-sized doors. 1,250 litres of bootspace and the iconic split boot doors.

Now, the MINI brand is being steered in a new, electrified direction and we have to start saying goodbye once again to the Clubman nameplate. To commemorate its sendoff, BMW Group are building 1969 units of the MINI Cooper S Clubman Final Edition. It’s unlikely any of these models will come to Malaysia. The Clubman is still listed on the local website.
