Honda CR-V 6th Generation Arrives In ASEAN
This latest Honda CR-V promises more technology and and electrified powertrain for lower emissions and better power delivery.
The 6th generation of Honda’s most popular SUV has just arrived in ASEAN, Bangkok, Thailand actually and this means its next destination will be Malaysia as this SUV has been a best seller for Honda Malaysia since the very first CR-V arrived back in 1994.
The current fast selling CR-V, the 5th generation was launched in July 2017 and sales has been moving along quite spirited even with tough competition from the Mazda CX-5.
is perfect for daily life or weekend escapes, with a rugged and sophisticated design inside and out, a more spacious interior, increased utility and a more advanced hybrid system for a sportier driving experience.
Benefitting from longer and wider premium proportions and a significantly broader stance, CR-V further advances the new Honda design direction with a low horizontal beltline, a long, powerful front end and clean detailing. Its strong new looks are backed up by a more fun-to-drive personality, more confident, refined dynamics and increased power and capability.
With a new, more advanced hybrid-electric system, they offer the most fuel-efficient and sporty driving experience and serve as a key step in Honda’s electrification strategy, eventually to represent up to 50 percent of CR-V’s annual sales.
Inside, the new CR-V is quieter, more comfortable and more versatile, with the most cabin and cargo space ever in a CR-V. With premium, high-quality materials, upscale touches and improved visibility, CR-V’s sporty, modern and spacious interior is a fresh take on Honda’s new interior design direction, introduced with the 2022 Civic and found in the 2023 HR-V.
The wide instrument panel features clean surfacing and a striking metal honeycomb mesh that conceals the air vents for an uncluttered and harmonious look. New front Body Stabilizing Seats reduce fatigue and improve posture.
Intuitive and intelligent technology also has been smartly integrated into the cabin. Standard features include a digital instrument display, a 7-inch touchscreen audio system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and USB charging ports for the driver and passenger.
This CR-V will also feature a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration, plus wireless phone charging. For rear seat passengers, two charging ports are standard.
This Honda CR-V comes standard with new and advanced active and passive safety technology to maintain its reputation as a leader in safety performance, including expanded and improved Honda Sensing® safety and driver-assistive technology with a new front sensor camera and radar system.
Next-gen front airbags, as well as new front knee and rear side-impact airbags, also are standard. An updated version of Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is designed to exceed current and future frontal crash tests, including oblique collisions.
Key Powertrain Features
All New 4th-generation two-motor hybrid system increases performance with its newly refined 1.5-liter turbo engine mated to a CVT that has been updated for quicker response and more refined driving experience. Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control™ updated for higher torque capacity, quicker engagement and this CR-V gets Hill Descent Control.
Equipped with an All New 4th-generation Two-Motor Hybrid System, this new Honda CR-V e:HEV will feature an all-new more advanced two-motor hybrid system. With 247 torque, a 15 lb.-ft. improvement (+6.5%) over the predecessor, the new CR-V will deliver greater performance than previous Honda CR-Vs.
A newly refined 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine, now with direct fuel injection, is mated to a pair of larger and more powerful electric motors which are now mounted side-by-side rather than in-line with the engine crankshaft as in previous generations.
