When Your Perodua Myvi Becomes Doraemon’s Take-Copter

Give your Myvi this very cute Doraemon makeover to keep it looking fresh

So at the Tokyo Auto show Kuala Lumpur 2023 happening from today (9 June 2023) which will continue until Sunday (11 June 2023), you will be treated to a plethora of cool and unique cars on display including this eye-catching Perodua Myvi which could pass off as a road going Take-copter right here in Malaysia. Let’s discuss it.

Moreover, aside from the… loud and “in your face” livery, this Perodua Myvi actually my favourite of all the Myvis out there, and as Malaysians, we know there are plenty of these cars on the so this car being at the top of my list is no small feat. Here are some of the reasons I think this Myvi is simply a cut above the rest.

BHPetrol

First and foremost, the livery, as someone who grew up watching Doraemon and even memorising the entire opening song in Japanese, (I don’t speak Japanese by the way, I’m just a huge Doraemon fan), the whole blue theme with the cartoon-y stickers provides a good contrast to the aggressive sporty body kit fitted to the Perodua Myvi.

Speaking of sporty, the Perodua Myvi would, in my opinion, look like a bit gaudy with its big hood scoop (it kinda reminds me of the one on the Dodge Challenger Demon) on the bonnet, giant exhaust pipes and massive rear wing, comically large side skirts, front splitter and rear diffuser are all balanced by the cute livery.

I also really like the white sport rims with pink accents as well as red brake calipers. This adds a slightly sportier edge to an otherwise cartoon-ish looking car. To be honest, I feel like the whole car balances, sporty and cute very well and only leans slightly more towards sporty despite the overall more Doraemon aesthetic.

So what do you guys think about this? Will you spruce up your Perodua Myvi with some or all of these upgrades? I sure hope so as I would love to see more cars like this on the road.
