Ital Auto Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for Ferrari in Malaysia, unveiled the Ferrari 12Cilindri at the Sepang International Circuit during the Passione Ferrari Club Challenge. This new model celebrates Ferrari’s legacy, particularly its iconic naturally aspirated V12 engines, which have been a hallmark since the brand’s inception in 1947.
The Ferrari 12Cilindri represents the next step in Ferrari’s commitment to performance, comfort, and design, seamlessly blending the elegance and versatility of classic Grand Tourers with cutting-edge technology. Inspired by the front-mounted V12 Ferrari Grand Tourers of the 1950s and ’60s, the 12Cilindri is a modern evolution of this lineage.
Moreover, it combines sophisticated design with exceptional performance, evident in its streamlined silhouette and active aerodynamic features. A key design element is the front-hinged bonnet, which provides a clear view of the powerful engine bay, while the twin tailpipes highlight its V12 heritage.
The exterior design, led by Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Styling Centre, marks a shift from the sculptural lines of the 812 Competizione to a more refined approach, maintaining Ferrari’s design integrity. Inside, the cabin features a dual-cockpit layout, enhancing both driver and passenger comfort.
The use of sustainable materials, like Alcantara with 65 percent recycled polyester, also underscores Ferrari’s focus on luxury and environmental responsibility. Aerodynamically, the 12Cilindri achieves a perfect balance between elegance and performance.
On top of that, its active aero system features adjustable flaps for Low Drag (LD) and High Downforce (HD) settings, ensuring optimal aerodynamic efficiency at various speeds. This flexibility guarantees top performance and stability. Cooling requirements for the engine were addressed through a redesigned system with seven openings in the front bumper for enhanced heat dissipation.
The layout optimizes airflow to the engine, oil radiators, and brakes, ensuring the car remains efficient and responsive. On the performance front, the Ferrari 12Cilindri incorporates advanced technologies like brake-by-wire, ABS Evo, and the 6D sensor system. These innovations, alongside new control logics such as Aspirated Torque Shaping, enhance power delivery and driving precision.
What’s more, the car’s Virtual Short Wheelbase and Side Slip Control systems offer unmatched handling and stability. For optimal performance, Ferrari 12Cilindri owners can choose between Michelin Pilot Sport S5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires. Both tire options were specially developed for the car, balancing performance and durability.
