While accidents are never wanted, we should always learn from them
A fatal accident was reported today that occurred beneath the bridge or flyover along Jalan Kampung Parit Mahang, Jeram, Selangor, involving a motorcycle and a lorry. This fatal accident is yet another reminder as to why we should always stay vigilant on the road and we do hope all our readers always remember to be safe when on the road.
The tragic incident took place at around 7:30 a.m. during the morning rush hour, when traffic flow was beginning to build up with vehicles heading to work and school. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the motorcycle, ridden by a man believed to be in his 30s, collided with the side of the lorry before falling and being run over by the heavy vehicle.

Moreover, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries to the head and body. Police and emergency personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department arrived shortly after receiving an emergency call from the public. Efforts were quickly made to redirect traffic and manage the flow at the affected location to prevent further congestion.
According to a police spokesperson from the Kuala Selangor District Police Headquarters, preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred when the motorcycle attempted to overtake the lorry from the left side but lost control. However, further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident, including gathering statements.
On top of that, the victim’s body has been sent to Tanjong Karang Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released to the public as authorities are in the process of contacting the next of kin for verification and identification of the body. Police have urged all road users to exercise greater caution, especially when driving or riding in areas with limited space and poor lighting, such as under bridges or elevated roads. Motorcyclists in particular are reminded not to make dangerous overtaking maneuvers and to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before starting any journey.
This incident adds to the growing number of fatal road accidents involving motorcycles, which continue to remain high annually in the country.
