Thanks to localisation, the Perodua QV-E gets a price cut to RM87,499 and can now be bought outright.
Perodua, alongside its extensive automotive ecosystem, has successfully executed a major localization shift for its first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Perodua QV-E. By manufacturing a significant number of components domestically, the national carmaker has optimized its factory operations, enhanced manufacturing efficiency, and successfully scaled production to over 500 units a month.
“Perodua and its local vendors have been able to manufacture a significant number of parts locally, and this means that we can further protect local jobs while being less dependent on foreign technology and supply chains,” stated Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Massive Price Reductions for the Perodua QV-E
To pass the direct financial benefits of this localization shift on to consumers, Perodua has officially announced a permanent realignment of the vehicle’s retail structure, alongside an even deeper, limited-time promotional campaign to help combat the rising cost of living.
The revised standard retail pricing and the limited-time special offer running from now until 30 September 2026 are structured as follows:
- Standard Outright Purchase Price: Realigned to a new retail price of RM93,999 to own the vehicle completely.
- Limited-Time Outright Special Price: Reduced further to just RM87,499 for outright ownership if purchased before the September deadline.
- Standard Battery as a Service (BAAS) Price: Structured at RM69,999 upfront, paired with a 9-year monthly battery lease fee of RM215 (including tax).
- Limited-Time BAAS Special Price: Slashed to an entry point of RM63,499 upfront, retaining the same optimized monthly fee of RM215 (including tax) for the 9-year duration.

The BAAS program is engineered to eliminate long-term electric vehicle battery anxieties by allowing Perodua to fully manage the power cell throughout the 9-year leasing tenure. The comprehensive package bundles total protection coverage for the battery pack, specialized battery insurance, and all eventual battery disposal and replacement costs. For buyers who choose the outright purchase track instead, Perodua formally guarantees a factory buy-back solution for the battery when the time comes for eventual disposal.
Existing Perodua QV-E owners are also being directly taken care of under this optimization strategy. Early adopters will receive a special financial refund and will be contacted individually by their respective sales advisors. Furthermore, existing BAAS customers will see their monthly subscription fees immediately reduced from RM275 down to the new RM215 per month rate, taking effect on their very next payment cycle.
Chassis Integrity and Technical Specifications
Beyond its highly competitive new pricing strategy, the Perodua QV-E remains a highly competent, ultra-safe urban and regional commuter. The vehicle boasts a maximum 5-star ASEAN-NCAP safety rating for structural occupant protection.
