Geely is making good pace with its first ro-ro vessel, the Jisu Fortune
Geely Holding has reached a major milestone with the official launch of its first self-owned roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessel, the “Geely JISU Fortune,” operated by JISU Logistics. Departing from Taicang Port, China, the advanced vessel has embarked on its maiden voyage carrying 5,000 vehicles to key European destinations such as the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium.

This voyage marks a significant step in Geely’s efforts to enhance its global supply chain by enabling more efficient exports of vehicles from its multiple brands, including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr and others. While Geely may not be the biggest local brand in China, it certainly is doing a lot outside of its home market and this is a great example of that.
Moreover, the JISU Fortune is a state-of-the-art ship designed for high-capacity transport and energy efficiency. It measures 199.9m in length and 38m in width, with a design draught of 8.6m and a cruising speed of 19 knots. The ship features a 12-deck car structure, consisting of eight fixed decks and four adjustable decks, with the ability to carry up to 7,000 units, including cars.

It is equipped to transport both conventional and new energy vehicles, including lithium battery electric cars. Notably, the 11th and 12th decks are specially designed to accommodate hydrogen and natural gas-fueled vehicles, reflecting the industry’s transition toward alternative energy sources for better sustainability.
On top of that, beyond its impressive size and versatility, the JISU Fortune sets a new standard in sustainable maritime transport. It is fitted with two 2,000-cubic-meter C-type LNG storage tanks and runs on environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG). This significantly lowers emissions and energy consumption, supporting Geely’s commitment to green innovation.

The vessel’s flexibility in fuel use, along with its adaptability across global shipping routes like the Asia-Europe (via the Cape of Good Hope) and China-Brazil corridors, positions it at the forefront of a new generation of eco-efficient ro-ro ships. The launch of the Geely JISU Fortune marks a pivotal step in strengthening Geely’s global logistics capabilities.

It enhances the company’s export efficiency and boosts its international competitiveness by ensuring timely and sustainable delivery to markets across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. As part of its broader vision, Geely plans to deepen collaborations with global logistics partners to provide improved services and products to customers worldwide.
