The Isuzu D-Max has held its no.2 position in the Malaysian pick-up truck segment.
Isuzu Malaysia has announced an impressive first half of the year, with the Isuzu D-Max continuing its upward sales trend. Securing a 16% market share and selling 3,081 units to date, the D-Max remains a top contender in Malaysia’s pick-up truck segment, firmly holding the No.2 position in the market.

The brand’s success is largely driven by strong demand for the 1.9-litre models, which account for more than 85.8% of total sales. Renowned for their fuel efficiency, versatility, and comfort, these models have proven popular among both pick-up enthusiasts and passenger car owners seeking practicality without sacrificing performance. The 3.0L turbodiesel is also still available in the top model. This engine has an output of 190PS and 450Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful options in the pick-up truck segment.

That being said, it’s the 1.9L 4×4 Auto Premium variant, which contributed 18.6% of total sales. This variant is celebrated for its impressive comfort features, advanced safety technology, and record-setting fuel efficiency — earning a place in the Malaysian Book of Records for the longest distance traveled on a single tank.

“Results achieved this year reaffirm the trend we’ve seen since last year. More drivers are discovering the benefits of the Isuzu D-Max,” said Tomoyuki Yamaguchi, CEO of Isuzu Malaysia. “Our focus for the second half is to continue delivering exceptional customer experiences and expand accessibility to our products,” added COO Kenichi Kudo.
Isuzu offers nine D-Max variants, from the practical 1.9L Low Ride 4×2 to the award-winning X-Terrain flagship, catering to a wide range of needs. This pick-up truck is available in Kinabalu Grey, Namibu Orange, Onxy Black, and Dolomite White Pearl.
