BMW Group Malaysia HQ in Cyberjaya seems to be servicing Rolls-Royce vehilces now.
Over the last few months, the relationship between Rolls-Royce and Quill Motors has broken down, resulting in the brand losing its representation in Malaysia. While the fate of the brand in Malaysia has yet to be finalised, there are hundreds of existing owners with vehicles that need to be serviced on time, warranty claims waiting to be filled and cars that needs a little TLC. While we’ve been patiently waiting for an official response from BMW Group Malaysia on this situation, last week we noticed something a little odd while picking up a short term loaner from BMW Malaysia.

What we noticed was that the area of the BMW Group HQ in Cyberjaya usually reserved for technical training has now been partially repurposed to take on aftersales for Rolls-Royce vehicles. There was a Rolls-Royce Cullinan being worked on and when we checked with some of our sources in the industry, there had indeed been a ‘soft’ confirmation from BMW Group staff that this was the temporary arrangement while Rolls-Royce finds a new brand guardian in Malaysia.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation with Rolls-Royce in Malaysia. It’s undoubtedly complicated – Quill Motors was terminated as distibutor of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars here, but Quill Group of Companies is large and one of its subsidiaries built and leases the building BMW Group Malaysia uses for its headquarters. Quill’s BMW business has also been affected by the termination.
Cyberjaya’s also quite a distance from many of the Rolls-Royce service centres that were operating. We wonder if BMW Group Malaysia is offering a concierge service to existing owners.

My memory could be wrong, but I recall BMW HQ in Cyberjaya used to fly the Rolls-Royce banner alongside BMW and MINI. I took the shot above in 2019 when it was removed. Today, the blank flag has been replaced with a flag with the BMW Motorrad emblem. Perhaps 2026 will be the year a 5th flagpole is erected at Jalan Teknokrat 5 to make way for the return of the Rolls-Royce marque under BMW Group Malaysia’s purview?
